Macaroni & Cheese, not just for kids who won’t eat anything else!
Children and adults alike love this creamy and reliable dinner staple. Whether it’s Kraft® Macaroni and Cheese, which is the most purchased grocery product in the U.S., or Guy Fieri’s delectable and decadent, not-so-easy to make, gourmet version, or even a healthier option, Cauliflower Mac & Cheese, Macaroni and Cheese is right up there with hotdogs and apple pie when considering American favorite foods.
This July 14th is a day we can all celebrate Macaroni & Cheese. A dish so popular it has its own day in the U.S. and is considered a National Food in Canada. Be sure and include it on your dinner menu.
Since Mac and Cheese is recognized as the ultimate comfort food for all ages, chances are you enjoy your favorite at a local restaurant or even have your own recipe. Here are a few other ways to put a smile on the kids’ faces this July 14. Try one of these fun activities to celebrate National Macaroni and Cheese Day in your home.
- Challenge a local restaurant to have a Mac & Cheese food challenge and offer prizes or bragging rights.
- Spice up your Mac & Cheese recipe by adding a mixture of different kinds of cheese and other flavorings. Invite your friends to bring their favorite mac and cheese recipe to a tasting and judging and honor the best mac and cheese dish with the “big cheese” distinction.
- Have a simple, special, family Macaroni and Cheese meal by adding hot dogs, ham or other meat to the pot. Make as a delicious side dish for an outdoor BBQ and watch it disappear. It’s sure to be the fastest dish gobbled up!
